When the waves come crashing, sometimes, you just have to stay still. Stay still and notice the sun setting down on the horizon. Look at how the sea hues change from blue to orange to grey. And as slowly as how the night approaches, let go of the day, let go of the pain.
Gaze up the cloudless sky and connect the stars like how you did when you were a child. The universe is so vast; it is at your disposal. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise. Continue to chase your dreams and work on them no matter how far away they seem. When there is nothing else you can hold on to, let them be your fuel to get up in the morning.
Feel the sand below your feet and remember that you are still standing up. Your life maybe a mess. You maybe depressed. And maybe you still are as of today. But you are standing up. You are still breathing. I know it hurts like hell and there will be days when you will feel like shutting yourself again. It’s okay. It’s okay to feel downcast and alone. It’s okay not to be okay. It’s okay to be crazy and stupid and stubborn. Feel all these emotions. Feel them until you are ready to let them go. Remember to let them go. Do not hold on to them too tight because they may eat you up alive and you may lose yourself in the process. Please do not lose yourself. But if ever you do, find the strength to get it back.
Listen to the breeze as they whisper comfort to your soul. Hear them and believe with every fiber of your being that you are a wonderful masterpiece. You are beautiful and smart and loving and kind. You are a blessing to the world and you have a duty to share that to others. Share your stories. Share your struggles. Share your life. You will never know how much your existence means to someone else.
When the waves come crashing, sometimes you just have to let them take you. Get on your surf board, swim like you have never did before, and ride the waves. Be lost in that moment between you and the water. Be confident in your stance; rise up when you fall. And most importantly, be happy. You deserve it. After all you have been through, trust that waves will bring you a better tomorrow.
